When the salon changes or cancels your booking

Salons sometimes need to confirm, move or cancel a booking. What each status in My bookings means, how you find out, and what to do next.

Most bookings go exactly as planned. But salons are run by people, and now and then a stylist is ill, a power cut closes the shop, or the salon needs to fit your appointment around something else. Here is what that looks like on Saloonly.

What the statuses mean

Every booking in My bookings carries a status:

  • Requested: the salon confirms each booking itself and has not done so yet. The time is in its diary and held for you.
  • Confirmed: the salon has it, and expects you.
  • At the salon: you have arrived and been checked in.
  • Done: the visit is finished.
  • Cancelled: the booking was cancelled, by you or by the salon.
  • Missed: the salon marked it as a no-show.

How you find out about a change

When a salon confirms, moves or cancels your booking in its diary, My bookings shows the change. In the Android app, allow notifications and Saloonly tells you as soon as the salon records it. You can also tap Remind me on a booking in the app for a reminder the day before and two hours before.

The salon may also call you on the number you booked with, especially if it wants to offer another time. That is what the number is for.

Good to know: Times in My bookings are always in the salon’s local time, so a moved booking shows the time you need to walk in.

If the salon moved your time

Check the new time in My bookings. If it works for you, there is nothing else to do. If it does not, cancel it from My bookings while you are still inside the salon’s cancellation window, or call the salon to agree something else.

If the salon cancelled

You owe nothing: there is nothing paid on Saloonly and no booking fee, so there is nothing to refund. Your cancelled booking moves to Past and cancelled, with a Book again button that takes you straight back to the salon to pick a new time.

If the salon cannot see you soon enough, look at other salons nearby. “Open now” and the free times on each page show where you could go instead.

If you cannot reach the salon

The salon’s phone number is on its page and on each booking in My bookings, with a Call button. If something has gone wrong and you cannot sort it out with the salon, write to us at hello@lacspace.com. A person reads every message, and most things can be put right quickly.

If it is you who is running late

That one is a phone call. We have a separate guide to running late and cancelling kindly:
